POLA's Research & Development

POLA strives to meet the customer's desire to become more beautiful through our R&D activities. Founded in 1929 in Shizuoka Japan, POLA Chemical Industries, Inc. employs over 400 Research Scientists working vigorously to develop high quality skincare and cosmetics.

POLA's research, patented ingredients, theories and development was well honored at the biannual conference for the International Federation of the Societies of Cosmetics Chemists (IFSCC) in 1994, 1996, and 1998.

In June 2004, Japan's Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi honored the POLA Fukuroi Plant (ISO 9000, ISO14000 Certified), located in Shizuoka, Japan with the Prime Minister Award for promoting the community with green environmental awareness.
